Project NOSH L.A. Event adds Special Boot Camp Education Session

Jeff Klineman

Extending the content and mission of Project NOSH L.A., on Tuesday, Nov. 1, select early-stage Project NOSH L.A. attendees will have the chance to join the Project NOSH Boot Camp. Geared toward startup food companies, Boot Camp offers a look at many of the basics of operating and growing a company in the natural or organic food business.

The Project NOSH Boot Camp will be held at the Marriott Marina del Rey in the afternoon, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The event is a free session for attendees of the next day’s Project NOSH L.A., which will be held on Nov. 2 at the Skirball Center in Los Angeles.

Designed to give startup food companies a fast and comprehensive look at the challenges they will face as they come to market and attempt to grow, the Project NOSH Boot Camp will leverage experts’ insights, successful entrepreneurs’ experiences, and a healthy dose of networking into an inspirational session of education and connection.

During Boot Camp, a cadre of companies and experts hand-picked by the staff at Project NOSH will be on hand to present and answer questions about the needs of small and growing food companies, including luminaries like:

  • Bob Burke, Natural Products Consulting Group
  • Greg Fleishman, Purely Righteous Brands
  • Noah Hagey, Partner, BraunHagey & Borden, LLP
  • John Maggiore, Maggiore Sales & Marketing
  • Jenna Smith, Managing Partner, Smith Design

… And many more to be announced.

Featuring a look at the basics of manufacturing, sales, branding, marketing and some of the legal and financial issues that new companies face, attendees will be encouraged to engage speakers with questions during presentations, to talk about their brands and products, and to participate in an hour-long direct networking session that allows them to focus on individual topics and issues facing their companies.

Note that we will only have room for about 60 attendees for the Boot Camp session — all attendees must be registered to attend Project NOSH L.A. as well.
