NOSH Live: Agendas Announced Including 2X’s Andy Whitman, Tate’s Maura Mottolese

Jeff Klineman

With deal breakdowns and plans for growth, the agenda for NOSH Live is a lively list of speakers and panels designed to give attendees strong strategic advantages as they attack their specific categories.

NOSH Live will take place on June 12 at the Metropolitan West in Manhattan and will address growth investments for companies in fast-growth mode that are sure to offer strong returns. Featured speakers include:

  • Andy Whitman, Managing Partner of 2X Consumer Partners, will discuss how to build outsized value via Brand Platformation, the firm’s roadmap for thinking about building a brand into a powerful platform. Andy will share specific case study examples of the benefits and challenges of “platformation,” including a look at Good Karma (a leader in non-dairy beverages and yogurts that recently attracted an investment/distribution partnership with Dean Foods, the largest processor and direct-to-store distributor of dairy case products in the US) as well as insights from other current and former portfolio brands like Beanitos, D’s Naturals, and Tasty Bite.
  • Maura Mottolese, the CEO of Tate’s Bake Shop, will join in a conversation on the way that companies can transform notoriety and momentum into rapid growth. Using Tate’s own massively successful story as a backdrop, Mottolese will explain the areas that need to be addressed — from marketing and sales to operations, personnel and resource allocation — that help successful small companies become successful big ones, and regional brands expand to a national footprint.

Other talks on tap include a look at investment and acquisition in the entrepreneurial food space including talks by Bill Shen of Encore Consumer Capital and Larry Kahn of Beechwood Capital, as well as a discussion with Whole Foods’ John Lawson, the grocery buyer for the Northeast Region.

We’ve also put up our Project NOSH Boot Camp lineup for Sunday, June 11, where startup brands can deepen their understanding of co-packing, manufacturing, marketing, investment, and more! The day will include an interview with Rip Pruisken, the Co-Founder of Rip Van Wafels, along with discussions of best practices for crowdfunding and dealing with brokers, all with Project NOSH’s network of experts and innovators. Entrepreneurs attending NOSH Live have the opportunity to attend Boot Camp at no additional cost.

NOSH Live is in three weeks, so get registered!
