Sweet Treats Abound at Sweets and Snacks Expo

File_001Snacking chocolate has continued to see growth, especially after barkTHINS’ recent acquisition by Hershey. Each brand at the expo had a reason their snacking chocolate was different — ranging from focusing on milk chocolate (barkTHINS uses dark), to utilizing more unique additions (such as smoked sea salt), to using more traditional flavors (such as dried raspberries instead of barkTHIN’s blueberry quinoa). Brown-Haley, the maker of Almond Roca, has its own line of snacking chocolate as part of the “Mountain” Line. The Tacoma Mountain Bar (later shorted to the Mountain Bar) originated in 1915 and the Mountain Thin’s line is the brand’s newer, lighter offering.
