CFO / VP of Finance

CLEAN Cause is a fast-growing Austin based beverage company -- currently expanding nationally -- making a social impact!  Our products lines include: Water, Energy and Sparkling Yerba Mate.  Our mission is to create a sustainable source of funding to help individuals recover from alcohol and drug addiction with 50% of profits supporting sober living scholarships to give individuals leaving rehab a fresh start.  We like working with ambitious people who are ready to make a difference!

The VP of Finance / CFO will provide executive leadership and knowledge in finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.  You will lead the finance department to design and implement best practice operations, to include the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.

Strategic Planning

  • Join the executive team to form the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives

  • Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans

  • Develop financial and tax strategies

  • Manage the capital request and budgeting processes

  • Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction

Operations

  • Hand’s on day-to-day F&A functions while continuing to build department for growth

  • Manage, direct, lead and develop direct reports within the F&A department

  • Establish and monitor accounting staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities and conduct annual performance appraisals

  • Upgrade current accounting processes and record-keeping procedures

  • Help guide company to hit financial targets

  • Able to communicate with all levels of the company

  • Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team

  • Lead accounting, investor relations, tax, and legal compliance initiatives

  • Oversee the company's transaction processing systems

  • Implement operational best practices

Risk Management

  • Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile

  • Construct and monitor reliable control systems

  • Ensure that the company complies with F&A legal and regulatory requirements

  • Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies

  • Report risk issues to owners COO and CEO

  • Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations

Requirements

An experienced leader and financial manager with appropriate CPG industry experience.  Start-up experience is a plus. An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards.

  • Professional and proficient verbal and written communication skills.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.)

  • MBA

  • CPA

  • 6-12+ years related experience including recent experience as a strategically oriented financial leader in the CPG industry

  • Experience managing finance personnel and / or a team
