REPORTS TO:            Founder and Chief Executive Officer


Tender Belly is a rapidly growing branded meat company (the “Company”), based in the Denver, CO area. With over $10 million in sales, Tender Belly sells products to customers in the foodservice and grocery channels, as well as online. The Company’s Founder/CEO and private equity investor have decided to hire a Senior Operations Manager to immediately assume responsibility for the operations function (as detailed below). This is an exciting opportunity to join the senior management team of an emerging brand in an entrepreneurial environment as the Company is augmenting its team in several key functions to support its rapid growth objectives.


As our Senior Operations Manager, you will have a hands-on approach and deliver strategic operational leadership across all aspects of raw material sourcing, third party production and fulfillment/logistics. We're searching for an experienced and process oriented leader who wants to help us build on our company culture, and also lay the ground work for rapid expansion. Specific functions include:

  • Provide cross-functional operations leadership from the front lines and immerse yourself in the supply chain to optimize productivity, promote growth, encourage innovative ideas, and create an excellent culture
  • Proven track record of managing vendor relationships, raw material suppliers, Co-Packers and freight providers, so that they are win-win for each side, all the while negotiating pricing and setting expectations in line with company goals
  • Manage cross functional teams involving finance and sales to create accurate forecasts and better assess the daily operations and demand planning while continuously driving and delivering results against established Company criteria and key performance indicators
  • Ensure adherence to food safety and facility compliance while meeting operational goals and continuously improving production
  • Insure continuous improvement to safety, quality, cost, and delivery while growing and expanding capabilities within the warehouse
  • Drive a customer-focused environment committed to delivering the highest quality product to our customers
  • Analyze performance to identify operational opportunities, trends, and cost-saving improvements
IDEAL CANDIDATEExperience, Capabilities and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years managing fulfillment and production operations in food,  or perishables manufacturing or distribution
  • Proven success managing teams in a fast-growth organization - our culture is a critical part of our success, and you need to help drive it
  • Comprehensive background in managing the supply chain from end to end, including third-party/Co-Packer relationships, Production, Shipping, Receiving, and Warehousing
  • Inventory control management with background in building/improving warehouse management or inventory tracking systems
  • Demonstrated ability to develop policies and procedures that help mitigate inventory discrepancies
  • Effective project management skills, well-versed in Demand Planning that is integrated with Sales Forecasts
  • An exceptional level of accuracy in all work

  • Customer-focused: slightly obsessive-compulsive when it comes to customer experience and strive to deliver a product that is second to none

The Senior Operations Manager will receive a market compensation package. The role would include a market base salary, an annual bonus opportunity and potential for participation in an equity incentive based on performance.
