Sales Area Manager Position with Startup Beverage Company

We are looking for a Sales Area Manager to build our brand, develop and grow sales in Philadelphia & surrounding marketplace.  You will build and manage a strong relationship with local distributors to position and sell Mingle Mocktails as the premium RTD mocktail into the Mid-Atlantic market.  Success will be measured on new points of distribution, VPO and sales growth. 

Based in the Main Line, Mingle Sparkling Mocktails introduces the retail and foodservice channels to the first premium, completely natural and low-sugar ‘mocktail’ brand right on time for the 2018 summer beverage season.   We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sales Manager on our founding team to lead sales division bottom up.  This position is focused on growing business at existing accounts in both traditional retail and hospitality (catering/foodservice), opening new accounts and working alongside marketing to drive trial and awareness.


  • Work with distributors, key retailers and foodservice/catering organizations to build Mingle mocktails business in the Philadelphia market, but also do work In surrounding areas, potentially including as far as Washington DC occasionally.
  • Prospect for new business in Philadelphia territory at retailers, foodservice and catering organizations
  • Also beverage industry experience in beer/wine segment or non-alcoholic segment a plus. 
  • Drive to accounts to have face to face interactions with key customers, and make an impact on sales store by store
  • Conduct in-store tastings, participate in tradeshows and sales events
  • Build and maintain strong relationship with local distributors via account planning and joint sales calls
  • Manage all sales expenses and related budgets for region
  • Strong self-starting work ethic, planning on daily/weekly/monthly basis to consistently grow sales in the region
  • Must demonstrate examples of being a self-starter and possess strong organizational skills as they will be required to work from a home office year 1


  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience in beverage and/or foodservice, with good understanding of distributor relationships
  • Computer knowledge and proficient use of the Microsoft Office
  • Understand sales planning with demonstrated sales experience
  • Hard-working, self-motivated, ambitious, knows how to hustle and build relationships
  • Road warrior, spend 80% of time on meeting new and existing customers, working to drive sales as top priority
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Get it done attitude
  • A love of our product and ability to be its brand evangelist in the field
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Must live in the Philadelphia area
  • Evening and weekend availability as needed for trade and customer events
