Sales Manager

Sunshine Beverages


Lead overall sales efforts for Sunshine Beverages in South Carolina and surrounding markets. Identify, recruit and open new accounts to sell Sunshine products (grocery stores, convenience stores, specialty shops, restaurants, bars, etc.). Work with partners, including customers, brokers and distributors, to grow Sunshine accounts and drive incremental sales. Ideal candidates for this position will be self-starters with strong sales and managerial experience, ideally in beverage category.

Key Responsibilities

  • Open new accounts and drive incremental sales for Sunshine
  • Increase distribution of Sunshine products by securing new accounts: in-store shelf placement, cold case placement and on-premise service/menu availability
  • Open new outlets by working with distributors, participating in route rides and making local account calls
  • Oversee and execute trade promotions at retail
  • Improve merchandising of Sunshine products in-store by selling in displays, POS materials and securing incremental placements
  • Build relationships and educate retailers, distributors and consumers about the Sunshine product, benefits, story, and marketing initiatives
  • Manage order fulfillment process, as needed, and ensure in-stock availability
  • Develop and execute sales strategies by analyzing sales reports, conducting market research and working closely with distributors
  • Work with marketing team to develop market plans, identify opportunities and needs, and implement sampling and/or grassroots programming
  • Submit timely status reports outlining targets, challenges, results and opportunities

Special Requirements

  • Position requires a licensed driver with reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout South Carolina
  • Must be able (with or without accommodation) of bending and lifting to set up displays and moving cases of product

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills (verbal/written)
  • Deep understanding of the assigned territory and surrounding area
  • Proven sales and negotiating skills
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of sales experience, preferably in the beverage or CPG industry
