Production Planner

General Description

Production Planning:

•Receives, plans, and fulfills orders from distributors from order submission to order shipment following GSC process standards and timelines

•Uses Google Suite and Vintrace Winery Management Software to write, distribute, and enter work orders as well as plan and maintain production schedule to meet shipment goals in an efficient manner

•Monitors distributor stock levels and works with Sales Department to maintain adequate inventory levels at all locations

•Sets and maintains employee schedules for packaging and warehouse departments

Supply Chain Management:

•Utilizes Lean Manufacturing principles as point of contact for vendors/suppliers to coordinate the purchasing of all production consumable inventory

•Manages and maintains inventory at all GSC warehouses, and arranges freight between locations

Warehouse Management:

•Directs warehouse organization and flow, including movement between GSC staging areas to loading docks

•Works with Facility Production Planner and GSC Vendors to arrange all incoming and outgoing shipments

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
•Ability to frequently sit, stand, and walk for extended amounts of time, and to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb for short amounts of time.
•Ability to frequently talk, hear, feel, taste, and smell.
•Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds
•Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms. 
•Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
•Must be able to participate in critical assessment of ciders


•Minimum 3 years of experience in a cidery, winery, or brewery environment in a similar role

•B.S. Degree in Winemaking, Brewing, Fermentation Science, or Supply Chain Management

•Proficient use of Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, and Vintrace Winery Management Software or similar

•Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills

•Excellent communication skills, with experience managing employees in a manufacturing setting

•Ability to function independently and as a member of a team

•Strong and proven work ethic, with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail

•Ability to safely operate a forklift, scissor lift, and pallet jack

•Ability to work flexible shifts, including extended hours as needed

•Commitment to excellence in an ever-evolving, exciting field of work

It is our commitment to offer a very competitive pay structure, our base pay rate, in all departments, will always begin at $15.00/hour which is well above Minimum Wage here in California. While we realize wage isn’t everything you need to be happy in a job, we think it’s a wonderful place to start. For a fairly fresh company, we offer an incredible benefits package. Golden State Cider pays for our employee’s Medical, Dental and Vision coverage – In Full - 100%.

Crew members may add dependents to their policies with the premiums for dependents being deducted from regular payroll on a pre-tax basis.

Wellness Allowance

In addition to a generous Health Care package, Golden State Cider recognizes the importance of our team member’s overall health and wellbeing and provides a wellness allowance of up to $100.00 per month which can be used towards a variety of things that promote physical activity, wellness and work-life balance. The goal of the Wellness allowance is to provide Golden State Cider employees as many options and as much flexibility as possible to find an activity which promotes aerobic exercise, flexibility, strength training as well as emotional health including coverage for passes to Regional, State or National Parks.

Paid Time Off

As part of our commitment to our employees’ health and wellbeing, Golden State recognizes the need for work/life balance as well as the value of rest and relaxation. We begin our offering with seven Paid Holidays per year. In addition, we offer six days of paid Sick leave per year. As for our Paid Vacation package, Golden State offers three weeks of paid vacation during an employee’s first year with tier increase annually:
