WHO WE ARE:
One rainy day at the University of Oregon, we were in our college apartment, scraping the bottom of yet another empty jar of peanut butter. As hungry college students and athletes, we ate a lot of peanut butter, and on this occasion, neither of us felt like biking to the store in the rain to buy more. So, we decided to try making our own! That day, Wild Friends was born. Less than a year later, we left our college lives behind to pursue our peanut butter dreams. Since starting Wild Friends in 2011, we’ve launched dozens of new flavors of nut and seed butter that are sold in thousands of stores across the country. Through all these changes, one thing has stayed the same: Our mission to make food friendly through delicious products, made with the healthiest wholesome ingredients we can find.
Job Title: Marketing Manager
Reports to: Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)
As the fastest growing nut butter brand in the U.S., Wild Friends is an exciting place to be, and we’re ready to build a Marketing Team capable of bringing the brand to life for new consumers and for all of our passionate fans. We’re looking for a self-starter who is up for the challenge of building a brand from a mental “place of abundance;” we’re small and scrappy, so you need to be resourceful and limitless in your creativity.
Because you will be responsible for executing our 2017 Marketing Plan, you will wear a lot of hats. From community management to trade show production, we are looking for a bona fide rock star. We’re looking for someone who wants to learn about Marketing in a hands-on fashion, designing programs from scratch and executing with excellence.
Our co-founders have been running all marketing programs to date, so we need a savvy, friendly marketer at the beginning of his or her career who already lives by our brand values: Transparency & Trust; No Ego; Constant Improvement; and Fun.
You will own social media strategy, and you will also bring our brand to life at industry trade shows. You will help answer our consumers’ questions, and you will help us creatively reach them via paid media and e-mail marketing. You will manage our online properties, and you will help us source apparel and other schwag. You will be charged with bringing our fans closer to our brand and the products they love.
Manage the production of four major industry trade shows, including planning, scheduling, and bringing our booth to life for buyers and the media.
Manage consumer sampling events, including planning, scheduling, and sourcing staff.
Manage production of Point of Sale (POS) and Shopper Marketing assets.
Manage marketing apparel and other assets’ sourcing, production and inventory.
Manage production and distribution of sell sheets and other sales’ assets.
Manage the day-to-day execution of social media strategy, including scheduling, posting, and community managing on Zendesk, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and other social platforms.
Build and oversee the content calendar to determine appropriate timeline for posting, engaging and optimizing content specific to each platform.
Conceptualize, write, create and post content to our blog.
Work with CMO to deliver weekly, monthly and quarterly analytics reports to executive team.
Help develop email campaigns for new product launches and other marketing initiatives.
Develop deep understanding and ownership of brand voice and knowledge.
Moderate the collection, curation and integration of user-generated content on social media.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

You care about how brands connect with consumers, and you want to be part of a movement towards a better, more friendly food system.
You are a social media native. You stay a step of ahead of social media trends. You think copywriting is fun, and you have a natural instinct for thumb-stopping, innovative content. You also like to be social in the “real world;” you think that events are the bee’s knees, and you’re always looking for something different, something better when it comes to how brands connect with their fans. And you thrive in a creative, collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
Deep understanding of and passion for ever-evolving social media landscape (including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and Snapchat);
Desire to learn social analytics and listening platforms;
Strong project-manager; you can organize and execute with the best of them;
Excellent copywriter with the proven ability to be concise, yet impactful in written communications;
Quick learner, logical-thinker and team player;
Desire to work in a fast-paced, high-growth work environment, adapting to continually changing priorities and ambitious project timeframes.
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or Business
Internship or work experience in Marketing or Communications, or self-starter with social media experience
Photography / videography experience
Graphic design experience (Photoshop + Illustrator)
Social analytics experience
