Packaging Line Manager

We are looking for a highly motivated packaging line manager that will work with limited supervision to run the day-to-day operations associated with a high speed bottling and canning line. This position will be the lead on all aspects of the daily management of both packaging lines including managing the packaging line staff and managing workflow to ensure quick, quality throughput. This includes the performance of a wide variety of skilled mechanical (and some electrical) duties including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of packaging equipment. Additionally, this position will oversee our onsite warehouse. In conjunction with management, the packaging line manager will develop and execute financial and productivity objectives annually, including – but not limited to – departmental budgets, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and On Time In Full (OTIF) target.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Leads daily work and assigns specific tasks to employees

Trains employees in proper work techniques, sustainability and safety
Ensures compliance with safety rules and procedures, standard operating procedures (SOP's), and good management practices
Performs all levels of hands-on tasks for the packaging department with a direct role and active presence on the production floor
Assists with developing and planning packaging schedule with winemaking, inclusive of working to maximize efficiency of changeovers, adjustments, synchronization of equipment and equipment up-time

Maintains packaging equipment and associated infrastructure, including hardware and machinery
Assembles and installs mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment and systems
Performs preventative maintenance and maintains accurate records
Follows general housekeeping procedures and maintains a clean and well organized workspace

Maintains equipment to meet packaging standards and established guidelines
Inspects and calibrates instruments daily
Ensures compliance with all required PPE and OSHA regulatory requirements
Assists in other departments as needed (ie cellar and facilities maintenance)

Physical requirements:
Must be able to bend, squat, climb, push and crouch for extended periods of time 
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods as required by job duties
The ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED.
4 years of production packaging experience

2 years of management experience
Available to work 10 hrs per day; up to 12 hrs per day 
Available to work all shifts and weekends as needed
Experience reading and understanding product specifications and drawings
Experience reading, understanding and following Standard Operating Procedures
Experience utilizing a computer for production reporting
