Clover Stornetta Farms Rebrands to Clover Sonoma

C5r5nzgVMAI_VfNPetaluma, Calif.– Clover Stornetta Farms, a third-generation family owned and operated dairy, today announced its new company name, Clover Sonoma. In addition to the brand refresh, Clover Sonoma pledges to remain an independent and family-owned company, reports its new status as a Certified B Corporation®, and makes its first Non-GMO Project Verified conventional milk available in stores.

As a leader in the dairy industry, the refreshed Clover Sonoma name honors the company’s heritage of being from Sonoma County while looking ahead to Clover’s expanded product distribution to Southern California and beyond. Sonoma County is a region in Northern California known for sustainable agriculture, artisan food and wine. Clover Sonoma’s conventional product line packaging had remained unchanged since the 1980s and its organic product packaging was untouched since the early 2000s. The Clover Sonoma brand update includes a full package redesign across all product lines.

“For more than 100 years, our brand has worked closely with family dairy farmers in Sonoma and Marin Counties to produce the best milk on the market, and now our Clover Sonoma name expresses this heritage while looking to the future,” said Marcus Benedetti, president and CEO at Clover Sonoma. “Our independence allows us to continue to provide the quality our customers have known for years, and our new status as a Certified B Corporation® continues our mission to produce quality dairy that cares for family farms, animals, the environment and our communities.”

Independence Strengthens Quality

Clover Sonoma pledges to remain independent and family-owned in response to large corporations acquiring small brands in the natural and organic food industry. Clover Sonoma knows consumers choose to support companies that align with their values, and the company’s pledge expresses its clear commitment to its high standards of quality. When consumers purchase Clover Sonoma products, they not only serve their families the highest quality dairy products with uncompromised standards, but they also directly support family dairy farmers who receive a premium for their work with Clover Sonoma.

Business as a Power to do Good

Clover Sonoma is now a B CorpTM member, which means it uses “business as a power to do good.” During the Certified B Corporation® process, Clover Sonoma achieved 97 points on its initial certification, which far passed the median of 55 and the 80 needed to qualify. This certification not only serves as recognition of what Clover Sonoma has achieved for decades, but what the company will continue to accomplish as it expands.

First Non-GMO Conventional Milk Half Gallons Now Available

As part of Clover Sonoma’s ongoing commitment to its customers, the company has also restated its commitment to convert its conventional fluid milk products to be Non-GMO Project Verified over the next two years. The Non-GMO Project Verified seal provides clear and trusted third-party testing and the highest standard in the world for non-GMO avoidance. The first non-GMO conventional half gallon milk products are on shelf today and the full line of conventional fluid milk products will be transitioned by 2019.
