From Boulder to Buffy: First Speakers for Project NOSH LA Announced

Project NOSH is excited to announced the first batch of speakers for the upcoming Project NOSH L.A conference on Nov. 2 in Los Angeles. The conference will bring together entrepreneurs, investors, industry leaders and suppliers to discuss how companies can grow within the current production and retail landscape of natural, organic, sustainable, and healthy packaged food brands.

Speakers will converge from all walks of the industry in order to discuss strategies, best practices, and to present lively case studies on ways companies have been able to approach growth and success in the natural and organic food business.

hughes-feb25Speaking about his lengthy experience in the industry will be Steve Hughes. Formerly the founder and CEO of natural food company Boulder Brands, Hughes now serves as CEO & Co-Founder of investment group Sunrise Strategic Partners. The firm has invested in a variety of standout food brands including Perky Jerky, Kodiak Cakes, PACT Clothing and TWR Foods.

On the entrepreneur side, Foodstirs founders Sarah Michelle Gellar, Galit Laibow and Gia Russo will join in a discussion about combining their particular mix of online marketing, celebrity presence and retailing white space into their line of baking kits. . The brand’s agility impresses as much as its growth, quickly expanded from being a direct to consumer, online only product to a retail venture, while aligning high consumer expectations with the changing kitchen dynamics of busy families. .

Bringing a new perspective on the relationship between retail buyers and entrepreneurs will be Nicky Jackson, CEO and founder of RangeMe, an online product discovery platform that streamlines the buying process for retailers and gives suppliers control over product visibility and reach. RangeMe is used by retailers including Target, Jet.com, Bi-Lo and more. Jackson herself comes from the CPG world, having worked as a Product & Brand Executive at The Kellogg Company, a Senior Brand Manager at Pepsi and a Sr Brand Manager for Premier Foods.

Rounding out Project NOSH L.A.’s initial list of speakers will be Duane Primozich and Carole Buyers, two of the Managing Partners of Boulder Investment Group Reprise (BIGR), which invests in early-stage natural and organic food companies. The pair will be discussing the ways a company’s financial position affects its ability to grow in the current industry environment and the best ways entrepreneurs should utilize their resources to achieve specific results.

Project NOSH L.A. will be held on Nov. 2 at the Skirball Center in Los Angeles. For early stage companies, a complimentary Boot Camp will be offered on Nov. 1
