We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic and ambitious National Account Manager to develop our high growth energy drink business on a large scale.  A successful candidate will be an experienced sales leader, experienced in the beverage industry, with high aspirations and the desire to join a start-up business. We are looking for someone based out of either Durham, NC or Dallas, TX.

The National Account Manager is responsible for driving MATI Energy sales volume and distribution by partnering with current distributors, as well as identifying and developing new national accounts. The position requires a self- motivated, organized, and energetic individual with an interest in personally growing and learning quickly to adapt to our changing business needs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Market Development 
Must be able to independently source new business by:

  • Identifying and prioritizing opportunities for incremental volume
  • Developing tactics to close identified opportunities
  • Looking for new opportunities to grow business through additional call points

Selling 
Must be able to drive sales through professional representation of the MATI brand:

  • Establish goals and brand pitch; anticipate objections
  • Competently understand market and competitive data
  • Competently utilize data in presentations and communicate effectively to buyers during the sales call
  • Understand buyer needs and sells vs. in a consultative fashion
  • Close and follow up in a timely manner

Planning 
Must be able to timely and successfully organize and deliver:

  • Annual volume, ad/feature activity and plans for distribution
  • Creative programming by chain account and market
  • Impactful ad, feature and promotional activities
  • Budgeting by program and chain
  • Pricing by distributor for each chain

Relationship-Building 
Lead and have strong working relationships by:

  • Establishing rapport with all buyers and wholesaler chain managers
  • Instilling commitment and enthusiasm for high levels of performance
  • Working cooperatively with others across the organization

Communication 
Effectively communicates internally and externally.

  • Build creative and impactful wholesaler and buyer presentations
  • Deliver monthly sales call and goal updates to manager
  • Professional and succinct email communication
  • Facilitate communication of account programs and inventory needs to MATI's distributor network
  • Values honesty and transparency; takes extreme ownership!

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years of relevant CPG sales experience
  • Beverage industry and distributor relationship experience is preferred
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Presentation planning and sales materials development
  • Ability to manage a sales budget and provide weekly reporting on performance
  • Strategic and innovative approach to developing awareness and grassroots marketing
  • Ability to formulate account strategies and execute against them
  • Must have valid driver's license and vehicle to travel and transport promotional merchandise between accounts within assigned territory
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Powerpoint, Work, and Excel
  • Willingness to travel up to 60% is required
