Position Overview

The BOXED WATER IS BETTER Director of National Accounts will lead efforts with national accounts in Grocery, Mass, Drug, Convenience and FSOP Channels.  Reporting to the VP of Sales, this key position will also play an influential role within the broader sales organization by developing and implementing key strategic sales initiatives across the enterprise. The individual will also support and work with the DSD team and counterparts in East, Western and Central U.S. regions to evaluate, execute and align opportunities. This position can be based out of any major city, you do not need to be located in New York.

The primary responsibilities for the BOXED WATER IS BETTER Director of National Accounts include:

•      Design, activate and execute a plan for the grocery / mass channel

•      Work with direct reports to develop national account efforts across small format and Food Service / On Premise

•      Achieve and deliver annual plans for the customer base that reflect the agreed upon brand and customer strategies and support delivery of business goals

•      Translate business strategy into clear and executable plans and focus resources accordingly within their respective customers

•      Establish and manage key customer relationships through joint business planning that strengthens and builds on the success of the BOXED WATER IS BETTER brand

•      Partner with key customers to provide insight and direction to develop solutions that promote and build the BOXED WATER IS BETTER brand 

•      Responsible for directing all programs driven through distributor management and relationships with guidance from the Vice President of Sales and Regional Distribution teams 

•      Schedule, conduct, and participate in distributor management meetings to educate, inform, and build capabilities on selling BOXED WATER IS BETTER

•      Responsible for building sales presentations and reports to share both internally and with national accounts  that will provide an action-oriented response

•      Support the execution and management of national account budgets, trade expense, T&E, and reporting. Access and manage any customer analytical systems to measure performance

•       Work closely with the Marketing team to establish and implement successful customer / national account  marketing programs, campaigns, and materials to profitably increase BOXED WATER IS BETTER availability, points of distribution and VPO

•       Partner with supply chain resources and team to ensure efficient demand planning and fulfillment

Ideal Candidate

The ideal BOXED WATER IS BETTER Director of National Account will have an understanding of the brand’s artistic, environmentally friendly attributes.  The candidate must display deep strategic, commercial business sense as well as a strong appreciation for enterprise and brand value.  The individual must also be professional, enthusiastic and team oriented.  The candidate will possess a drive for results through relationship building, strong process oriented analytical skills, effective written and verbal communication capabilities and engrained social energy and interpersonal characteristics. The candidate will have the ability to think strategically and creatively, the ability to multi-task, a willingness to roll up his/her sleeves as needed, be self-motivated, and have a passion for consumer brands and marketing.


•      BS/BA in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related major

•      10+ years National Account experience with demonstrated progression within organizations

•      5+ years of leading sales teams, strong management and coaching skill sets

•      Experience in multiple and broad national account channels

•      Objective based, strategic mindset

•      Strong communication processes and organization skills

•      Deep understanding of resource allocation and management

•      Demonstrated brand building initiatives within high growth organizations

•      Strong quantitative and analytical skills, database skills a plus

•      Ability to use reports and syndicated data to achieve goals and objectives

•      Willingness to travel

•      Prior experience with beverage category or start-up CPG categories a plus

•      Prior experience in high growth, brand-centric environment preferred
